[00:00] Hi, Crime Junkies. It's Britt, and I have big news. One of my favorite seasonal shows, CounterClock, is back with a brand new season, and it is wild. Host Delia D'Ambra is digging into the 2008 Lane Bryant murders. I mean, this isn't just a recap. It is a reinvestigation. She's talking to law enforcement, people from the community, even sources who have never spoken publicly until now. And you know I love a show that asks all the questions. Listen to CounterClock Season 8 now wherever you get your podcasts. [00:30] *music* [01:00] Brett, have you been on Twitter? Are you looking at the news? No, I'm actually at a work event for my husband. What's up? [01:12] I'm at a family reunion right now. It's like the craziest timing. They have made an arrest in the April Tinsley case, the Monster Report Wayne case that we covered. [01:21] What? Are you serious? Who is it? So, I'm looking at an article right now. I mean, this literally happened this morning, Sunday morning, and...
[01:31] They say they're going to release more information on Tuesday, but the article that they released said on Sunday morning, the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Indiana State Police arrested 59-year-old John Miller of Gravel, Indiana. I have never even heard of this place. In relation to April 19th. [01:51] It's called play? [01:52] Graybill? [01:54] Oh, okay, Grayville, Indiana. But they said, related to April's 1988 homicide. [02:00] Oh, my gosh. And then we go on to kind of recount the case. And I'm looking for anything on this guy. And again, it's exactly what we said. There's nothing. This guy didn't exist. He'd never gotten into trouble. Completely under the radar. [02:14] I know they haven't said this explicitly, but I'm 90%, 99.999% sure that the way they got to him was through that familial DNA that we talked about. So Parabon. They had to have. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I mean, we thought that Parabon said that they were releasing their DNA that they had. Parabon's the one that did that sketch in 2018 about what the killer might look like. And Parabon has already, by releasing their DNA in other cases, have already solved cold cases. [02:44] for madness how it happened but I am shocked. The guy's 59 years old. [02:49] I mean, still hanging around Fort Wayne. It's not far from Fort Wayne where it all happened. So he would have been 29 at the time of the murder? [02:57] You know I can't do head mass. Is that accurate? Well, it happened in 88. We'll be 30 this year. 88 was when we were born. 59 minus 30 is 29. So he'd be 29.
[03:11] Man. [03:12] This is incredible. This is incredible. Oh, my God. It's incredible. It's a lot older than they thought he was. I remember them thinking at some point, like, he could be, like, a teenager, could be early 20s. Yeah, yeah. Honestly, I'm kind of surprised by that age. I'm so interested to learn more about him, though, because, like, the profile that they said, they said he'd be between 50 and 50 now. 59 fits perfectly in there. I mean, does he have dysgraphic? I have 1,000 questions. Did he – I know we say Sarah has nothing to do with it. Did he know Sarah? I – [03:40] Oh, my God. I'm freaking out. I feel so happy for Janet, for the family. So I don't know, but this call is recorded. I'm just going to release it to our listeners so they know what's going on. And then after they release more information on Tuesday, we can maybe give some update episodes to help everyone realize what's going on. Because, again, this is, like, breaking as well. Yeah, I feel like we have to do something, but this will do for now. Oh, my gosh. [04:09] This is like resolution. We have an answer. I know. Dude, 2018 is kicking ass in cold cases. You guys, we might not be able to do a podcast anymore because all the cases make it solved. But, like, best world to live in. [04:23] No, this is amazing. This is amazing. Thank you so much for calling and telling me. For sure. You go back to your work event. I'm going to go back to my family reunion. And we'll talk tomorrow. Okay, bye. Bye.
[04:53] Thank you. [05:07] Okay, crime junkies, you know I absolutely love a twist and a turn, especially when it comes to people who turn out to be someone they're not. That's why I have been obsessed with the podcast Chameleon. Every Thursday, host Josh Dean deep dives into a scam so bizarre, it will leave you wondering, how did they get away with that? [05:25] It is truly one of my favorite podcasts right now and I've been listening for years. [05:29] I think you'll love it too. [05:30] Listen to Chameleon wherever you get your podcasts.
